Strong as a Tank.

Strong as a tank.

Tank Girl was solidly built of Aluminum by 'Meta' in France. She is incredibly strong with a hull thickness of 10 mm. (As a rough guide most alloy boats of this size would be around 5mm) she is 37 feet in length and has a beam of 12 feet. There is comfortable accommodation for 7 people, though I rarely take that many on board unless they are all friends. 4 is generally the maximum. There is plenty of ventilation with many opening hatches. There are also fans in the berths. She has a cutter rig, with a slab reefed main and furling head sail. On board is all the equipment required to cruise in comfort and safety, including E.P.I.R.B., (406 and 121.5) ssb, gpsx3, vhf, auto pilot, wind vane, solar panels, wind generator, computer, 15hp dinghy, stereo (2x amps and a 12inch sub!). There is plenty of space for every one inside and out. There is also plenty of canvass awnings to provide shade. We have recently fitted a new engine and a new fully battened main sail. Tank Girl carries 600 liters of water, and 300 hundred liters of fuel. She has a center board with a minimum draft of 800mm, and a maximum of 2.4 meters. It is amazing the places it is possible to get into. You can check out youtube.
